Cisco 2600 router getting hang with the message displayed on console %% low on Memory.Can not login to the router.Once the router is reloaded it comes up.Running with deferred release.
The symptoms sound like there is a memory leak (and the mention that you are running a deferred release supports that assumption). So in addition to the suggestions from Guiseppe I would suggest that you upgrade the software on the router to a more recent version, in which hopefully the memory leak is fixed.
