Hi All
We are using a 7206 VXR Router with a NPE-G2 as our ISG.Can anybody help me by confirming how many online sessions will it going to support ?
Presently only a part of our production network of 200 broadband users is running as a demo-setup upon it, but the CPU utilisation is going upto 6% sometimes where maximum CPU resource is taken by "IP Input" Process. We have set this ISG for atleast 8000 online users. Will it going to support that amount of load ?
Else is there a way to increase the CPU power of the router by putting another NPE-G2 card into it ?
Any comments are welcome.

HI abhishek,
Are you using Nat ? I faced a similar situation and unable to cater 40Mb traffic with NPE400. If you are using nat better to offload the nat processing.

No, nat is not implemented in our BRAS. However I have succeeded to decrease the CPU utilisation a bit by enabling " ip cef " and " ip route-cache " .
