SRST on 2 MGCP voice gateways

Hi All,

I'm a newcomer. I'm configuring CUCM 6.1 with 2 MGCP voice gateways with FXO ports. I've a question about SRST. I understand I've to configure 1 voice gateway to be SRST and also MGCP fallback and the other one would be only MGCP fallback. Am I correct?

So, how can I manage inbound and outbound calls on those voice gateways? For example, how can I configure IP phone to utilize both gateways for outgoing calls? How can I configure both voice gateways for hunting number and ring the phone for incoming calls?

Does anyone please give me an idea or the link?

Thanks,

Nitass

no, you need to configure BOTH gws as SRST because you're going to configure 2 SRST references. otherwise just configure 1 SRST reference.

SRST handles calls for phones that registered to it, so the load balancing needs to be done assigning an equal number of phones in CUCM to each SRST reference. there is no master control that is going to have 2 GWs to choose, you're going to have 2 independent call controls.

Hi Java,

Thanks. How about the hunt number? I want all incoming calls to be forwarded to the hunt number because I don't have AA or IVR right now. How can I configure it? Could you please advice?

Thanks,

Nitass
