Vlan inactive

Hi,

I have several devices for which the vlan name is filled in as inactivexxx (with xxx the vlan number) in the UT reports.

I tried several data collections and user trackings but the problem stays.

If I walk via SNMP to the relevant fields everything seems ok:

managementDomainLocalMode : client

managementDomainName : GSKbiorix

I check a specific ifName, for instance 9/3 (ifindex 151)

vmVlan.151 is 1000

vmPortStatus.151 is active (!!!)

vtpVlanName.1000 : RIXSRV

(Platform is W2003 LMS2.6 with latest upgrades for all bundles)

TAC asked me to set up debugging, but there is no output (file stays empty). I also noticed that the UT takes always many hours to finish its job.

Does someone recognize a similar problem and can give me usefull feedback?

Thx in advance.

An inactive VLAN will be created in Campus if a port is found to be a member of a VLAN that is not part of the VTP domain. This could be symptomatic of an SNMP problem on the VTP server. The recommendation to enable debugging was a good one. The debugging you need to enable is core, corex, and vlad debugging under Campus Manager > Admin > Campus Data Collection > Debugging Options. Then you will need to run a new Data Collection. The log of interest is ani.log (by default, however, you can change this under the same interface).
