Hi,

I am looking to set up a Cisco IP phone at a remote L2L VPN site (192.168.50.0/24) to connect into our CME 4.3 system at our main office.

At present our Voice Network is using VAN10 with network 192.168.100.0/24 and our DATA network uses 10.0.0.0/24 on the Native VLAN.

Data Users have the Layer 3 switch (10.0.0.1) as their default Gateway so they can access the CME 192.168.100.0 Voice Network, similarly CME system uses the same Switch on VLAN20 as a default gateway on IP address 192.168.100.1, outgoing Internet is passed onto our Cisco ASA (10.0.0.2)

Can anybody tell me the steps involved in getting a remote IP phone up and running?

As far as I understand that I will just need to add the CME Server IP address as a DHCP option at the remote site and also add NAT Exemptions and Interesting traffic access lists for the VPN connection, is this correct?

Remote Phone---877w---Internet----ASA---Switch---CME Router

Many Thanks,

Chris

Use DHCP on the local subnet with option 150 pointing to your CME. If your using NAT you will also need add the exception. Interesting traffic will also be a must. The interface your ip phones are on will also need the following h323 added to pass correctly.

interface GigabitEthernet1/0.2

encapsulation dot1Q 2

ip address 192.168.x.1 255.255.255.0

no ip redirects

no ip unreachables

no ip proxy-arp

no ip route-cache

h323-gateway voip interface

h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr 192.168.x.1
