Cisco password.

Hi,

default user name: cisco and password: cisco

It was a 840 new router, just some days before made some small configuration.

I have cleared startup and reloaded the router.

Now its not taking user name cisco why? its saying invalid username and password.

Any ideas plz. help me.

There really is not a default user name and password in IOS. That point seems to not be true in routers shipping recently which do come with a user ID and password which appear to function as default. But this is to support SDM and the user name and password are built into the config that ships with the router. When you clear startup and reload you have removed that config with the user name. So now your router does not have a configured user name.
