Hello all,

I'm having a problem with CME/CUE.

Have topology attached.

When call comes from PABX to Ip phones in CME to acess a voicemail the call is dropped. So

to solve this i did put in both router, in dial peers the command CODEC G711ULAW.

But now when a call comes from Nortel, come with G711 while ideal scenary was coming G729 by the IPWAN.

How can i do, to calls come from PABX pass trought E1 using G729 and acess voice mail ?

What version of CME? What is the phone load of your IP phone?

You can try adding a voice-class codec to your incoming dial peer to see if this helps. Include g729r8 first, and then g711ulaw second.

Hi Antonio,

Here we have to take some considerations:

1.- Cisco Unity Express supports only G.711 voice streams, so all calls made into the system (including those from IP phones, PSTN gateway ports and any other VoIP equipment in your network) must use G.711.

2.- If you require that G.729 calls traverse IP segments of your network between sites, and that these calls forward or dial direct into voice mail, then you must use a transcoding resources to change the voice stream from G.729 to G.711 before the voice stream enters voice mail pilot numbers.

You can see this URL where explains this type of scenarios:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/design/CP_CIPExpress/cipce10.html#wp1010776

Here you can see a transcoding configuration example (search for "CUE - CME - CCM Integration" topic):

http://cciev.wordpress.com/category/cisco-unity-express/

If you want further information about Configuring Transcoding Resources, you can go to this URL:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmetrnsc.html

Hope this help you a little bit.

Best regards,

- Adrián.
