I have exchange 2007 and integrated with Unity 5.x my question is the implementer company installed the exchange 2003 instead of 2007 management console in my unity server. You know this might be right in case you have exchange 2003 and AD 2003 but in Exchange 2007 Microsoft isolated between the AD and Exchange in term of create the mailbox from the AD.

can i ask if i can install the exchange 2007 management console in my unity 5.z server instead of exchange 2003 management console?

No; doing so will break your Unity server. Apparently Microsoft did not include the MAPI API with the Exchange 2007 Management Console.

The offline address books in Exchange 2007 must also remain at "Outlook 2003 and Earlier Clients":

You need to keep the Exchange 2003 System Manager on the Unity Server. The following is from the Unity Install Guide for Unity 5.0(1) at the following link:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/installation/guide/umexnofo/5xcuigumenofo060.html#wp1939020

"Regardless of the version of Exchange installed on the partner Exchange server, you always install Exchange 2003 System Manager on the Cisco Unity server. See the "Installing Exchange 2003 Administration Software on the Cisco Unity Server" section."

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for your answers

I got the same issue during implementation Unity 5.0 with exchange 2007 cluster.

You need to install exchange 2003 systems manager as PDF explained.

It works !

Hi all,

I have the same problem and that same PDF document. In the package I have, I only have the Data Store 2000 Disc, while the required one is the Cisco Unity Message Store 2003. I don't have an Exchange 2003 disc.

How can I solve this?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Mazen

Problem solved, I found the Message Store CD in one of those 'envelope inside another envelope' that Cisco ships. It was a totally different kind of envelops.

Anyway, thanks and good luck everyone.
