What VPN type for a VPN server behind a NAT

Unanswered Question

A small bussiness, with a couple of servers, has its network connected to internet via ADSL router Zyxel. It needs to provide VPN access to its servers.

The VPN concentrator (server), Cisco871 in this case, cannot get public IP address, the Zyxel router works as a NAT or PAT device only.

The remote clients are PC's, which are connected to the internet directly or via PAT device.

What VPN type would you recomend? I have not succeed with an attempt to configure Enhanced Easy VPN, so I had to use SSL VPN.

What solution would you recomend?

I have this problem too.

Hi!

1. Solution

Take a ADSL Modem and use the Cisco 871 as PPPOE Client. For Remote PC use Cisco VPN Client.

2. Solution

Make static NAT to the Cisco 871 for the following:

udp eq 500

udp eq 4500

esp

and use Cisco VPN Client
