On the this switch Catalyst 3560E 24 10/100/1000 PoE+2*10GE(X2),750W,IPS s/w this clause 2*10GE(X2), Does this mean that to use sfp modules eg GLC-LH-SM= we have to add the twingig convertor. or it the switch already configures please . How many ports are already configured by default ? please clarify

Hello Christopher,
all ports are enabled as L2 switchports in vlan 1
see
section Default Settings After Initial Switch Configuration
you cannot plug a 1GE module like GLC-LH-SM into a 10GE X2 they are different.
you need to insert the twingig that acts as a converter
10-Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces
The Catalyst 3750-E and 3560-E switches have two 10-Gigabit Ethernet module slots. For uplink connections to other switches and routers, use the Cisco TwinGig Converter Modules.
A 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface operates only in full-duplex mode. The interface can be configured as a switched or routed port.
For more information about the Cisco TwinGig Converter Module, see the switch hardware installation guide and your transceiver module documentation.
