Is there anything special that needs to take place to Import a PIX 501 (IOS Version 6.3) config to an ASA 5505 appliance or is it as simple as uploading the config?

Not it's not unfortunately because your pix is running 6.4 and the ASA 5505 will be running a minimum of 7.x code and there were quite a few changes. Note that a lot of existing commands would work but some won't. Attached is a link to a doc for upgrading from pix to ASA which talks about both a manual method and a tool assisted version -

Thanks Jon, I kind of suspected that. I will take a look at the link in detail and go from there. Thanks again for your help!
