Hi again all,
We have a metro ethernet connection between two company sites. It's 1Gbps. We also have a point-to-point DS3 between these two same sites.
The 1Gbps link is the primary connection for network traffic. If it fails the point-to-point DS3 takes over routing the network traffic.
Both links and their respective routers/switches are in the same EIGRP AS (503).
Is there a way to "hold down" routes from using the 1Gbps metro ethernet link because of it potentially flapping?
If the primary links goes down, I want to keep the traffic running over the back-up link for about 180 seconds before having the 1Gbps take over routing the traffic again.
I'm trying to mitigate the risk of the metro ethernet link flapping.

metric holdown is what you need.

with this command we make EIGRP behaves as a DV protocol like IGRP ?

Not sure I follow you. The main difference between IGRP and EIGRP is the support for classless routing.
EIGRP is a Distance Vector Protocol in nature regardless its hybrid features.
