CUCM 6.1 TON and NPI

Hi,

My TSP requires TON set to Unknown and NPI set to E.164 when making calls via ISDN PRI to PSTN. I have a H.323 trunk from CUCM to a Cisco gateway. In the trunk configuration page, at 'Called Numbering Plan', I only have four options: Cisco CallManager, ISDN, National Standard and Unknown. There is no 'E.164' option. I tried all of them, but none of them send the requred NPI, which can be seen in the gateway 'debug voip ccapi inout' output.

Is there a way to configure this on the gateway router?

Any advice is appreciated.

You can use voice translation rules to set the TON and NPI:

translation-rule 1

rule 1 // // ?

abbreviated The numbering type is abbreviated

any Any numbering type

international The numbering type is international

national The numbering type is national

network The numbering type is network

reserved The numbering type is reserved

Hi Larry,

Hard to say without looking at the details.

You can also try this command:

interface Serial0/0:23

isdn map ....

-nick

Hi,

This command changes TON=National to TON=Unknown. Why cannot it change TON=unknown to TON=National?

Due to some CLID presentation requrements, my TSP needs to see TON=National. I use the following line

rule 1 // // type any national

but debug isdn q931 still shows TON=Unkown.

thanks.

Hi Nick,

My topology: CUCM-->2811(H323)gateway-->PRI. CUCM is set to Unkown in both TON and PNI.

'debug voice ccapi inout' on the router shows TON=National.

'debug isdn q931' always shows TON=Unknown. Please see the attachments.

The rule is written as:

voice translation-rule 3

rule 1 // // type any national plan any national

Thanks.

Hi Nick,

The isdn map command works.

Thanks.
