I have a running setup on CCM3.2 with 600+ ip phones ( mix of 7910, 7940 and 7960).
I am have a UCM 6.1 server with all the configs done equal to old server.
Now I am going to remove old server and connect new server, so that all the devices will be registered with new server.
Does anyone have experience in similar scenario where large no of phones try to update image from new server simultaneously.
Is there any possible problems with the server with this large number of phone image updagte requests ?

Hi,
You better apply the new firmware to all phones in i.e. groups of 100 before the "upgrade", like a week before.(this is also the Cisco recommended way)
Then swap out the servers.
We are doing the same for a slightly bigger cluster with 6000 phones.

Turn all tftp traces off (Servicability).
The CPU of the tftp-server/publisher will be 100% during the load time.
600 phones will take some time, but not forever.
The time it takes is definitively depending on the server type and the bandwidth you have.
Cheers,
