Using a Cisco 2900XL as a desktop switch

Hi all,

I have an old Cisco 2900XL switch lying around (no idea what is on it) and wanted to use it as a desktop switch. Two questions:

1) If I factory defaulted the switch would this work?

2) Does this switch support auto-mdix?

thanks.

1) No idea. Depends if the switch is working anyway. Fctory defaulting won't break anything that isn't already broken so it won't do any harm.

2) No it doesn't.

Thanks Jon.

Hi,

You will need to delete the old VLAN database in it, to avoid misconfiguration.
