Call Blocking based on Calling Number?

Unanswered Question

Hi all,

We are running CallManager 6.1.2 and we use MGCP for our gateways almost exclusively (SCCP for phones).

I'm looking for a way to block calls coming in from the PSTN based on the calling number (i.e., caller ID).

This is basically the "disgruntled employee continuously calling the CEO (and calling from his home phone or cell phone, foolishly enough)" issue.

So on one particular phone (like the CEO's phone) I want to block a calling number, such as 212-555-1212 or what not. Potentially blocking ALL calls from 212-555-1212 would also work.

We run MGCP, so H.323 solutions won't work...

Thanks - Rob.

I have this problem too.

I'd roll out IPMA for him. This sort of call control is really what it is for.

Setup a filter to block the numbers you dont want to come through.

You cant currently do anything with MGCP on the gateway level and calling number.

You could set up a translation pattern to change the called number to something else - maybe a CTI route point which has an associated voicemail box with a "Stop calling me!" message.
