net4net

hello guyes

I have a problem about C-7513 Slave RSP high CPU utilization

I've configured for redundancy RSP configuration(SSO, RPR+ )

Router operated correctly.

But I can find HIgh CPU utiliztion on slave RSP(Standby) by 'IPC Slave CBus Process'

Active RSP CPU utilization is normal(0%).

So I want to fix this problem. but i can't find any solution.

somebody help me.

here is what i tried

1) changied IOS version,

- current IOS Version is RSP-K91PV-M Version 12.2(25)S15,

and I tried 12.4.23 (SP/VIP), 12.3.26(SP/VIP)

2) changeed redundancy mode

- RPR+, SSO(SSO mode supports only 12.2(25)S15 release

current RPR+ mode.

3) swaped RSP module

- swaped slot 6 with slot 7 (both are RSP 8)

here is slave RSP output.

#sh proc cp so

Hello ChangShik,

first of all verify that you have only VIP linecards in the chassis and no old cpuless Interface processors

see

RPR+ operates only in a system with VIPs as the line cards. Systems with legacy IPs default to RPR mode. Up to two legacy IPs can be supported by RPR+ if the service single-slot-reload-enable command is configured.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3t/12_3t7/feature/guide/gt_rpr2.html#wp1057189

Legacy IPs default to RPR. To allow RPR+ for VIPs when up to two legacy IPs exist in the router, you must configure the service single-slot-reload-enable command. If you do not enable the service single-slot-reload-enable command or if you have more than two legacy IPs, all the line cards are reloaded.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
