Hi All ,

We are using the LMS version 3.1 with device license for 300 devices . Now it holds

Normal - 294

Pre Deployed - 1

Alias - 8

Total Number of Devices - 303 .

We need some clarifications in the same

1- What does the term 'Alias ' means .

2- Can we include any new device with this LMS database ( CS and RME).

3- Is there any IOS requisites for adding devices to LMS ( Especially ASA .)

Thanks in advance .

An Alias is a device which was added to DCR with two different names. Once RME collects inventory from the devices it knows if the two records point to the same physical device. You can resolve aliases under RME > Devices.

You can new devices to DCR under Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management. By default, all new devices will be automatically synchronized with RME.

Yes. See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/3.1/device_support/table/lms31sdt.html , and the subsequent RME pages for SWIM and configuration support.
