Hello.
There are two pages on www.cisco.com about Cisco Catalyst 4948.
On one page I can see:
2048 Active VLANs
4096 VLAN IDs
On the other one:
4096 Active VLANs
4096 VLAN IDs
I have two questions:
1) Where is the truth?
2) It happend because of the software update?

Active VLANid 4096 is possible. Per-VLAN Spanning Tree (PVST) and VLAN IDs is 4096 so Active Vlanid is also 4096. there is no possible to 2048. I have verified that documents. There may be some issues on editing.

I hope i haven't misunderstood, and you mean that I can have 4096 vlans simultaneously on Catalyst 4948.
And not 4096 Vlan IDs with only 2048 working vlans on the switch :)

Could you give the URL for the link that shows 2048 ?
I always use the data sheets for this sort of thing and the data sheet for the 4948 clearly states that you can have up to 4096 active VLANS on the switch together with 4096 active VLAN IDs
