I am trying to configure a new Cisco IP Phone 7940G to register as a SIP device to an Asterisk server.
My SIP configuration is:
Authenticaton Name: 242
Authentication Password: 242
Display Name: Test
Proxy Addres: 192.168.2.200
Proxy Port: 5060
When I configure a Linksys or sofware phone with these settings it register and works fine, but withe this Cisco 7940G I hear "The number you have dialed is not in service, please check the number and try again" whenever I dial any number (I'm testing with internal extentions and feature codes), the phone does not light up on the Flash Operator Panel either, and the display on the phone has a phone icon with an 'X' next to it, so I don't belive it is registering on the server.
Can anyone advise how I should diagnose and fix the problem?
