VPN backup with HSRP

Hi all

I have an issue with one branch office who connects to the central via VPN. This branch have two routers with HSRP and tracking for backup purposes and both have the same VPN configuration to the Cisco ASA central office. When outage occurs in the branch, HSRP works fine and the VPN between secondary router and central ASA wakes up and all runs OK. When the main internet access of the branch office comes up again, the HSRP returns the management to the primary router and the secondary VPN dies, the problem is that for some reason, the central ASA keeps the route to the secondary router. This causes that packets from remote site come to central office by the primary VPN but try to return for the secondary one (died due to preemtion of remote site HSRP). I have tried with IKE timmings with no success

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Miquel

are you sourcing your router/hsrp vpn's from a loopback?

You need to use Reverse route injection (RRI)

and "crypto map xxx redundancy". You should be

peering the ASA with the HSRP ip address.

Just keep in mind that this is NOT stateful

IPSec failover.

this is a classic CCIE security problem

OK, thank you all. I'll try with RRI
