Solved: problems wih ASDM

Hi

each time i install or try to run the ASDM it tells me that The procedure entry point_JVM_ConstantPoolGetUTF8A@16 could not be located in the dynamic link library jvm.dll. i have downloaded the jvm.dll file from java. and still it does not work.

i dont understand what am doing wrong.

Use java versions 1.4 or 1.5 - I recommend version 1.5

thank you but i cant seem to find the java version 1.5 at the java homepage i can only find JDS 5.0. please can you direct me to the site where i can get it. thank you

I found also recently that the newer versions of the Java JRE's (notably 1.6x) broke my ASDM. I went to Java's website, and dug through their download area for 'older versions' and then selectively downloaded the 1.4x and 1.5x versions. At this time I'm using 1.4.2_18, and my ASDM works fine.

Just watch out, there are some pretty nasty exploits out for the older versions of the JRE's right now.
