Hello ,

two notes

1) the ouput error decoder provides the following answer

There are a lot of the following error messages

Dec 18 16:50:41.263 MSK: %SYS-2-INPUT_GETBUF: Bad getbuffer, bytes= 60128, for interface= GigabitEthernet0/1

-Process= "", ipl= 1

1. %SYS-2-INPUT_GETBUF: Bad getbuffer, bytes= [dec], for interface= [chars]

The software requested a buffer that is larger than the largest configured buffer size, or it requested a negative-sized buffer.

Recommended Action: Copy the message exactly as it appears on the console or in the system log. Research and attempt to resolve the issue using the tools and utilities provided at http://www.cisco.com/tac. With some messages, these tools and utilities will supply clarifying information. Search for resolved software issues using the Bug Toolkit at http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs. If you still require assistance, open a case with the Technical Assistance Center via the Internet at http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/front.x/case_tools/caseOpen.pl, or contact your Cisco technical support representative and provide the representative with the information that you have gathered. Attach the following information to your case in nonzipped, plain-text (.txt) format: the output of the show logging and show tech-support commands and your pertinent troubleshooting logs.

Related documents- No specific documents apply to this error message.

2)

File bootflash:crashinfo_20081218-135151 open failed (-1): File system is in an inconsistent state

Writing crashinfo to disk0:crashinfo_20081218-135151

However, if the concurrent ppp users were 1300 you can be near the limits of the IDB table for the device.

There have been other users complaining of crashes in similar scenarios

Hope to help

Giuseppe
