NTP issue

I have configured the NTP in my network. while i issued the follwoing command its showing 127 pool address..

it suppose to show the NTP server address which i given in my switch right..

Core#sh ntp status

Clock is synchronized, stratum 8, reference is 127.127.7.1

nominal freq is 250.0000 Hz, actual freq is 250.0000 Hz, precision is 2**18 reference time is CCF6449B.32D6EBCE (10:04:43.198 CST Fri Dec 19 2008) clock offset is 0.0000 msec, root delay is 0.00 msec

Sateesh,

This is used as the localhost address (i.e. the router is using its own clock for synchronization). The below URL should help

Hi,

Thanks for immdiate response..

My questions is y its is showing local host as a NTP as i have given NTP server address?

ntp server 1.1.1.1.

Its suppose to show 1.1.1.1 in NTP status right..

I find that frequently the presence of the 127 address in NTP is because the device is configured with the command ntp master. Have you configured ntp master on this device? If so I suggest that you remove ntp master and see if it then associates with the 1.1.1.1 that you have configured.
