Hi!

Using NAT, there is a limitation of translations of IP for the router 3845 (which does not leave in high CPU utilization)? Because we will use NAT to thousands of addresses IPS router in 3845.

Thank's!

By default there is no limit to the number of NAT translations. If you wish, you can limit the number of translation entries it creates by entering the "ip nat translation max-entries " command in global configuration.

Thank's charles.spaid.

But I would like to know if there is a limit (recommended by Cisco) not to lose performance of the router (high CPU utilization).

Thanks!

Very hard to come up with a limit as every router has a different configuration and depending on the configuration the limit can be X or it can be Y.

If you have a lot of services running in the router, the limit can be very low compared to a router just running NAT.

Best to monitor your CPU and set the max-entries as recommended by the other poster.
