Cisco ACE Sticky?

Hi,

What would be a resonable initial sticky percentage? I started with 5% on the following command syntax:

resource-class prod

limit-resource sticky minimum 5.00 maximum unlimited

I haven't had the opporunity to allocate my resources as needed because I do not have enough servers on the ACE environment yet. I currently have a total on three virtual context including the Admin context.

John,

there is no magic number.

Be aware that sticky resources can't grow.

So 5% is all you get even if you configure maximum unlimited.

I would suggest to do a 'show resource usage' to see how much you are already using.

If necessary, increase the resource.

Do you expect to grow by 20 times in the future ? 5% is only 1/20 of the resource and if you do not expect to grow, why save the resource ?

Good point G. I do not have enough servers in the ACE environment to make an educated guess at this point, but I will monitor the sticky sessions very closely and make changes as needed.
