IP Voice 12.4.23 / where did "voice register dn" go?

I just upgraded my 2811 and noticed that "voice register dn" is no longer in the command structure. I am using "Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express: SIP Implementation Guide" as my reference. I had it working at code version 12.4.11, but after the upgrade the command disappeared. Does anybody know what it was replaced by or how to register SIP phones without it?

Hi David,

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but I'm curious about maybe trying 12.4(22)T which is recommended for CME 7.0(1)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/33matrix.htm

Hope this helps!

Rob

Hi,

You are running a 12.4 mainline image, 12.4(23). This is CME version 3.3, which doesn't support SIP CME. When you say 12.4(11), you're actually meaning 12.4(11)T. The T train has all the new features. If you go from 12.4(11)T to 12.4(23) you're actually downgrading the IOS in terms of features.

Here's the pertinent part of the guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmesystm.html#wp1025405

Notice the CME 3.4 or later requirement. You can do a 'show telephony' and you'll see you're on CME 3.3.

You can upgrade to something like 12.4(15)T8 and you can use SIP CME. You probably don't want to be doing much SIP on mainline anyway :)

hth,

nick
