I have a 5520 ASA
Can I have some users run AnyConnect and
others run the vpn client?
Cisco says this
"The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client can coexist with the IPSec Cisco VPN Client, but they cannot be used simultaneously."
Im wondering if this is on the user or ASA.
Also.I have the anyconnect vpn client
on my desktop..is this the same that
I load on the ASA???
I would see no reason to do this..but
all documentation tells me i need to

The ASA can run the AnyConnect VPN client and VPN client. What the documenation implies is that a remote user cannot run both application at the same time. They connect using the VPN Client or the AnyConnect Client.

The ASA has to have the PKG file loaded before it will accept AnyConnect connections. Even if the client is already installed on the desktop. Yes both Cisco VPN Client and AnyConnect can be installed on the desktop however establishing a connection concurrently with both product will not work.

You can use VPN client and anyconnect for different users. You can even set groups for each that you can filter to allow what protocol you want to open. Just to let you know that any connect uses ssl and depending on your license, IPsec has more concurrent users than SSL anyconnect. Keep this in mind especially if you are also using the WebVPN.
