What does "no ip dhcp use vrf connected" command do??

What does "no ip dhcp use vrf connected" command do? Is it a must to include this with every dhcp pool commands??

I removed it and my clients were not getting DHCP IP address.

This command is related to the fact that we need to add VRF support to the DHCP Server for packets arriving directly on the server without a relay involved.
