VLAN priority on the Catalyst 2950 trunk port

Hello!

I have a Catalyst 2950 switch. It have one ethernet port with trunk:

interface FastEthernet0/1

switchport trunk allowed vlan 2,92

switchport mode trunk

spanning-tree portfast trunk

The port is connected on radio-channel with 2 Mbps bandwidth. The Vlan 2 have big traffic every time.

Can i do that all traffic on Vlan 92 will have MIN 64 kbps free bandwidth every time on this radio-channel?

Thanks. Dev

Hello Dev,

you would need modular QoS to do that and I don't think C2950 supports it

So, I may be wrong, but I don't think you can do it.

Edit:

actually 2950 supports modular QoS inbound so if you can classify and mark traffic on the internal vlans/ports you can then provide some resources to traffic marked in some way.

see

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2950/software/release/12.1_22_ea11x/configuration/guide/swqos.html#wp1044930

however, this can work outbound direction only.

on traffic received on fas0/1 you have few to none control.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Ok, I will study this more later. I hope I will can to resolve this problem by QoS

Thanks
