I took 642-513 HIPS and 642-502 SNRS last year (May 2007). I will take the rest this year. Can I use these two to get my CSSP or do I need to retake them? I do not have CCNA Security (just CCNA), do I stil need to take 4 exams + 1 elective to get my CCSP? THanks

I have this problem too.

As you have not passed the SND exam you will need to do CCNA Security to meet the prerequists of CCSP. You can however do the exams in any order so if you wish you can leave CCNA Security until the end, just you won't get CCSP until you have passed it as well. It should be a walk in the park if you do it last since it is the introductory exam and takes a little bit from each of the CCSP exams just at a very basic level.

Pity you didn't do SND before it was retired as it would have renewed your other certifications whereas I don't believe CCNA Security will (as it is not a 642 level exam.

Yes the two CCSP exams you have done can be used for credit towards CCSP for 3 years.

HTH, please rate if helpful.
