Hello Marc,
the minimum version is 12.3(14)T you had a 12.3(26) mainline.
T is for technology train.
New features and new cards are introduced in the T train and then later integrated in main release.
You can find in 12.4 mainline the support of what has been introduced in 12.3T
Bonnes Fetes a Tous
Hope to help

Hello Marc,
in the following link the compatibility matrix
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps214/products_tech_note09186a00800ae37f.shtml
notice that the following is supported
VWIC-2MFT-E1
but yours is VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1
the following
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps5855/product_data_sheet0900aecd8028d2db.html
declares support on C1721 for data services only
it is an IOS problem see table 1
minimum IOS for 1721 to support the VWIC2
12.3(14)T
So you need to perform an IOS upgrade to support the module
Hope to help

Many thanks guys. Your replies were very helpfull for me to solve my issue.
In fact, I was missed with the vesrsion of the card I search on Cisco website (VWIC-2MFT-E1
instead of VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1). Now I put the IOS c1700-ipbasek9-mz.124-23.bin and the card works fine !!!!!! Hourreyyyyyy !!!!
Just something I don't understand : onto the matrix compatibility, it is indicated that I need a IOS 12.3(14)T or earlier. My router was using a 12.3(26) Version and it didn't work? Could you please explain me that fact?
Thanks again. and as we said in France "BONNES FETES A TOUS"
