When I change the config on our 3525 router and then do a write mem command I get the following.
[OK]private-config file open failed (File table overflow)
Any one seen this?

Mike,
I have no clue what version you are running. Most probably you might be hitting CSCds44607. [not enough details on your 3525].
Workaround would be save your config to a file and reload the box and then load it from the file.

Sorry...I had the info just forgot to put it in the question...just grabbed it again.

You might want to open a TAC case and confirm. I do see some bugs related to this.

Thanks. I will do that. Do you know if I am at major risk. I checked the bug and it does not really say.

Probably the best answer is the one from 5 years ago - copy your running config to a file, reboot the router, load the config from the file back to the router.
Obviously we do not know for sure what caused this problem. And there is no guarantee that it will not happen again. But this is the recovery from the current problem. If the problem is hardware related then there is not much you can do other than replace the router. If the problem is software related a change in software version might help (but on a box this old that is also problematic).

Based on this output it looks like your router is actually running 12.4(22)T2 but that you would want it to run 15.1(4)M8. Is that correct? If so then changing the order of the boot system commands would get you the results that you want.
