Hello,

Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between a ubr-rfsw and a ubr-rfsw-3x10? Thanks.

The Cisco uBR-RFSW RF Switch provides the physical cabling support for the N+1 Redundancy for the Cisco CMTS feature, which allows a single cable interface to act as the protect interface for up to 7 cable interfaces in the Cisco uBR10012 router, thereby significantly reducing the cost of providing redundant operation. The cable interface connections are made through the Cisco uBR-RFSW RF Switch, which provides the connections required for both upstream and downstream port redundancy. The Cisco uBR 3x10 RF Switch is designed to work with the Cisco uBR10012 CMTS or the isco uBR7246VXR CMTS in a cable headend or hub to provide N+1 redundancy for applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP).

The Cisco uBR 3x10 RF Switch is a rack-mount unit that contains the RF combiners and splitters, RF switches, and switch drivers. The RF switch uses Cisco RF Switch logic, and a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) control interface. The Cisco uBR 3x10 RF Switch can be controlled using SNMP from the Cisco uBR10012 CMTS or the Cisco uBR7246VXR CMTS.

Thanks for the info.
