SRP Ring topology-new network Setup

Hi,

I'm building new network from scratch and need some advice on the type of equipment to use. I would like to utilise the DPT/SRP, Not sure what equipment to use. I have spent 8 hrs reading on Cisco page but still have trouble understanding what to use. I was thinking of 4500 for the server room and 3700 for each floor, Not sure if this is right, not sure if 3700 supports the srp or equivalent. I'm thinking of running a 10 gig fiber around the building creating a ring interconnecting all switches for redundancy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to Cisco

In my opinion you didnot get info about it because DPT/SRP is supported by series 7600 series and above routers.10G line cards are available for 12000 routers and 2.5G for 7600series routers.

Lookslike switches dont have this feature even 6500 series Switches dont have line cards that supports DPT/SRP.

DO you have any specific requirements for 50 msec protection switching?
