I have been tasked with setting up our first PPPoE DSL connection. We have it up and running, but the speeds seem to be rather slow, and would like someone to review the config and see if I am missing something that would improve the overall speed of the pppoe connections. During download tests, we found that we would drop from 12MB(standard ethernet) to 4.5MB (PPPoE). So any help would be appreciated. Here is relevant information:

enable cef on the PPPoe aggrigation interface then you will see it is improved

Why is MTU so less, i think 1492 would be ok, also tcp max should be 1452, try to tune those and see if performance increases..
also as described above, enable CEF on the interface

We're experiencing somewhat similiar problems -- we're going to compare between PPPoA and PPPoE. What did you ever find out?
