ASA 5505 / Proto41 or 6in4

Hi,

does anyone know if the ASA5505 supports 6in4/proto41? I know it doesn't support terminating anything other then an IPSec connection, so it seems like my only option would be to go with a provider called sixxs which does have an option that supports ipv6 tunnels for computers doing NAT, however proto41 support is required.

I have this problem too.

*bump*

If this isn't supported yet, anyone knows where I can make a feature request?? Being able to terminate an IPv6 tunnel on the 5505 would be even better, however I'm not getting my hopes up for that one.

Hi Jorge,

Unfortunately although IPv6 support is there, this would require native IPv6 (i.e.: outside interface) and my connection at the DC isn't native IPv6. The two other possibilities are:

- If the ASA could terminate IPv6 tunnels (like I said, not holding my breath for this one, this feature is found on their routers)

- If Proto41 (ip6in4) would be supported

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll open a TAC case.

On a different note, I noticed Apple's airport extreme home routers support this. Kind of pricey ($175) but I guess you gotta pay to play. If ?I wouldn't be so cheap (and I know I shouldn't, eventually I'll get there) I'd surf eBay for a second-hand cisco router, but of course this would mean using another U
