The CCNA certification expires after 3 years. Yes, you will need to retake. There is no update or renewal option after a certification has expired. You will need to take 640-802 OR 640-822 and 640-816 to reestablish your CCNA.

Hope this helps.

It is very clearly stated on the Cisco website that they are valid for 3 YEARS only so you will have to redo the exam again. Its also probably a good idea to be familiar and look at the the Cisco site if you intend on persueing it as this sort of information is very easy to find on their site!

You need to take the full exams in order to re-establish your CCNA certification. The limit is 3 years from when you last passed an equal or higher Cisco certification exam.

You can pick up more detailed information at the Cisco Learning Network:

This is a good place to pick up info regarding overviews & reviews, test questions, and how to register to take the exam.
