Converting Regular VLAN to Private VLAN

Hello,

We have regular vlans configured on our switches. We now have a requirement to segregate one of our VLAN to a private VLAN.

If we have to convert the regular VLAN to a private primary VLAN and then create secondary VLANs beneath it. Will the existing inter-vlan communication be affected. once changed will the private-primary vlan be able to communicate to other regular VLANs as before

Also what are the other issues I need to be aware of if I convert a regular VLAN to a private primary VLAN

Thanks,

Chandru

Private vlan is used for partitioning the Layer 2 broadcast domain. It should not impact inter-vlan communication since they will go through layer 3 interface.

Please refer to the following link for the config guideline and restictions.
