MWI with AIM-CUE on 2851.

Unanswered Question

First off. I'm new to voice so don't fully understand the differences between ephones and ephone-dn's.

That said, MY 2851 running CME with an AIM-CUE installed does not provide a Message Waiting Indicator (MWI)via either a red light on the handset or an envelope on the display.

Ive seen some information which suggest MWI won't work with anything other then a 5 digit extension.

My configuration has a 4 digit extension.

I'd appreciate any help.

I've attached a configuration for reference.

The 8000 and 8001 are the MWI on/off vales. From what I can gather I need to create an ephone-dn for these values?

Appreciate any information!

Hi Tim, you will need to create this ephones-dn for MWI.

Enter the command ephone-dn in order to create the extensions for the Cisco IP phone lines.

Router(config)#ephone-dn 80

Router(config-ephone-dn)#number 8000....

Router(config-ephone-dn)#mwi on

Router(config)#ephone-dn 81

Router(config-ephone-dn)#number 8001....

Router(config-ephone-dn)#mwi off

Check this good document

Hope this help
