Show cdp ne detail (output)
Below output is from a 3560 switch with L2 dot1q trunk link to the core 6509 switch. Why is there no management address under(last line)? This is happening on all edge switches(3560 & 3750)

You might be experiencing a cosmetic bug .
Try rebooting one switch and check whether it resolves the issue

If that doesnt work try this.
CDP Source-Interface on all your switches. The source interface being the int that has the IP you want to show up.
cdp ?
source-interface Insert the interface's IP in all CDP packets

Thanks for replies.
cdp source-interface command not supported on the 3560 & 3750 switches.
The 3560 & 3750 switches are running different ios ver so this would rule out bug??
Note:min number of vlan allowed on each trunk link, vlan1 is shutdown, also VTP pruning is also enabled.

Hello Colm,
but the following info
Device ID: ABC
Entry address(es):
IP address: 10.201.144.5
Platform: cisco WS-C6509-E
is correct ?
CDP is a layer 2 protocol it should provide you the IP address of the interface you connect to or the the SVI of vlan144 ip address.
the absence of the management address can be the result of the multilayer nature of the c6509 that has multiple ip addresses in different subnets.
the management address can be a field that is filled by l2 switch where is clear what the management address is (there's only one)
But I see that in one campus

Well there is the management ip address
Is your 6500 switch a VTP server or client ?
may be the field is only for VTP server
In my case it is so may be the meaning is that
Edit:
I've verified that a l2 switch even if vtp client shows the mgmt address as seen by neighbor.
Hope to help

Thanks Giuseppe for your response.
The 6509 core switches are the VTP servers and have multiple L3 SVI's.
Edge switches are in VTP client mode.
VLAN 1 shutdown on all campus switches.
Native VLAN 144 used for all dot1q trunk links.
All Trunk link are VTP pruned and VLAN blocking on trunk links.
Additional info: On another customer network when using VLAN 1 for the management SVI on all campus switches, the management address is present.
