7961G Stuck on "Upgrading" CME V 7.0

Hi everyone. I have just set-up my lab consisting of a 2811 router acting as the CME (Version 7.0.0.0) and I'm having problems with the phone, which is a 7961G stuck on a screen where it just shows the Mac address of the phone and "Upgrading" just above.

It wont go any further. I've tried doing a factory reset but still nothing.

The setup is as follows:

1 x 2811 CME

1 x 7961G

1 x 3560 POE Switch

1 x 2610 (DHCP Server)

Here is a sample of my config for scrutiny, the correct phone loads seem to be there, unless I'm missing something very obvious, I'm not worried about showing my IP Addresses as it's only a lab.

sh run

In NETWORK CONFIGURATION scroll down to DHCP Settings and select it NO. Hit Save after that it should tell you that you need to enter a TFTP server address. Enter your TFTP server address then Save the settings and reboot.

Hi Dev,

Try taking the 'load 7961' command out, to see if the phone will register at all.

If it does register, put the command back in and let us see this info:

'debug tftp events' when it registers

'ephone x' configuration

Hard to tell what's happening without this.

if the usual 123456789*0# combo fails, try this sequence (after reboot+hold_headset_button): 3491672850*#

make sure the phone is connected to a network with dhcp and that tftp dispenses the right image when prompted by the phone. last, but not least, the phone may not display anything for a while (up to a couple of hours), just go have lunch and come back.

i have seen and resolved this issue with the 7961 particularly, so i think you are having the same issue. let us know how it goes.
