Cisco Fax Server with CUCM and SIP Trunk to telco

Hello,

I'm having a doubt for a future implementation. Will i have any problem working with a PSTN Sip trunk connection to the telco to receive and send faxes in a Cisco Fax Server solution, instead of having T1/E1 directly connected to H323/MGCP gateways?

It will work, yes. Will you have issues? Maybe, depends on your situation and configuration.

Sometimes problems arise from the SIP trunk providers. For instance, we see some issues with some providers not supporting T38, which in turn causes problems if the fax server only supports T38.

This will be heavily dependent on who your SIP provider is and what they support.
