Hi,
We have deployed CUCM version 6.1.2.1002-1 and have a mixture of 7945 & 65 through out the campus. When you call IP to IP it use G722 and the quality is fine, when add a conf call it converts it to G711 and then start to get noise in the ear piece of all phones involved.
CUCM is running - 6.1.2.1002-1
45 & 65 are - SCCP45.8-3-4SR1S
All the media resources are configured on CUCM.
I have disabled the Advertise G722 codec type, but this has made no difference to the quality of the call.
Has any one else experienced anything similar?
Regards,
James

What does the processor utilization look like on the CUCM server when you are conferencing? If the CUCM is providing the conferencing resources, emulating those DSP resources in software will put a heavier load on the server.
Do you have any spare DSP resources on the VG that you could use to at least test a IOS-based Conference resource?

Try newer firmware on the phones. There were a lot of bugs surrounding sound quality in the initial releases for the 79x5 phones.
