Cisco Aironet 1240AG Series Access Point

C1240 Software Version 12.3(8)JA2

We have several of these devices with identical configuration, this is the only one with these problems. Is this a hardware failure?

Configured as a Workgroup Bridge

"%DOT11-4-CANT_ASSOC: Interface Dot11Radio0, cannot associate: No Response"

show int: "Dot11Radio0 is reset, line protocol is down"

Web admin tool shows: Current Status (Software/Hardware): Disabled/Down

Since this is an AP, how do you have this powered? Is it powered by a switch or by the power adapter? Did you test to see if the WLAN that the workgroup bridge is using is accessible via a laptop? Usually the radios shut down if they do not have sufficient power (power injector not configured, or you are using an older PoE switch) or in this case also the bridge will reset its radio if it cannot associate to the WLAN. Based on the error message it seems that your bridge cannot associate to the WLAN, and it is resetting the radio in an attempt to try and associate again...

I'm using an external power adapter from a working bridge just like it.

I can only access/see it by ethernet or console. the radio continually resets to try and reassociate with the AP, but it never gets anywhere.

If an AP refuses to join the Wireless LAN Controller, type the following command from the AP:

lwapp ap controller ip address
