Hi every body!
My book says newer switches support pagp and lacp. Old switches such as 2950 support only pagp.As a result," channel-protocol " command is not available.
Does it mean on cisco 2950 switch, i can only configure:
channel-group 1 mode on or auto or desirable?
thanks a lot!

yes, switches that does not support LACP have no reason to have "channel-protocol" command therefore it would not be there.
However, I would like to point out that Cat 2950 support LACP too beginning 12.1(13)EA1. The older switches like 2900XL or 3500XL does not siupport LACP at all, maybe that's what they meant?
Here is a 2950 that is running a newer IOS:
2950#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
2950(config)#int range fa 0/1 - 2
2950(config-if-range)#channel-protocol ?
lacp Prepare interface for LACP protocol
pagp Prepare interface for PAgP protocol
2950(config-if-range)#do show ver

as you can see it does support LACP.
