IPv6: 6to4 tunnels vs manual tunnels

hi,

Are they two different methods? I see that both of them use almost the same commands (interface tunnel, tunnel source, ...).

The only difference I see is the Tunnel Mode and the IPv6 addresse we assign to the tunnel interfaces.

any idea?

Manual tunnels are more like P2P tunnels whereas 6 to 4 tunnels are point-to-multipoint tunnels.

In 6to4 tunnel the destination address is derived by representing an IPv4 address in IPv6 format

Have a look at these links where both the tunnel configurations are well explained
