Hi Jon,

1). Yes, that Part# indicates 32 Ports/Sessions. Here is an example;

Unity server license for VM or UM, includes 32 sessions

2). MCS-7825-H3-ECS1 / HP DL320G5

Approximate message storage, G-711 codec, minutes (hours)

138,699 (2,312 hours)

Approximate message storage, G-729 codec, minutes (hours)

Very helpful.... thank-you. One more question:

For the unified messaging w/Exchange - are the messages stored on the Exchange or Unity server?

Jon

Exchange server are where messages are store.

Unless you go into UMR mode where Unity loosses contection with exchange or exchange is down.

At this point Unity temp stores new messages on the Unity server until exchange is back up and the delivers them to exchange.

Randy

Hi Jon,

Just to add a touch to the great info from Randy;

From Unity Design Master Lindborg;

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Unified%20Communications%20and%20Video&topic=Unified%20Communications%20Applications&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%40%5E1%40%40.2cc28f1c

Unity uses the mailbox size limits set in Exchange.
