Not able to make a call from Nortel to Exchange UM 2007

We are doing a pilot project of UM 2007 by integrating with CUCM 6.1.2

and the integration happend fine. UM Voicemail Pilot number 44410 can

be reached from all the Cisco IP Phones and able to work on all

features of UM. And we have a Gatekeepr controlled trunk between CUCM

and Nortel 11C at Gurgaon. They are unable to reach Exchange UM Pilot

number which is 44410 either direcly dialling the number or through

dialing an UM user and unable to reach VM at the time of leaving a


But all other extensions of Cisco can be reached from Nortel. I have

also analyzed the packets between Cisco and UM and found that whenever

Nortel is calling UM there is no RTP session initated and the cause

code says Resourse unavailable.

Please let me know is there any limitation in getting this done or can

we do some changes at the Gateway where Nortel is pointed. One of my

colleauge says it is a kind of tandum switching which is not supported

by Cisco.

Resource unavailable unspecified is mostly the problem related to a media setup failure. Check for codec capabilities mismatches, especially your regions configuration.
