Handsets still in warranty ?

Unanswered Question
Jan 13th, 2009

I have a number of faulty handsets (typically screen faults) which I cannot track the supplier or purchase date for. They are not under maintenance cover. Is there a way I can determine the manufacture date from the phone to determine whether it is likely to be under warranty ? How are handsets tracked by CISCO - can they verify it themselves ? or can I lookup this info myself based on MAC/serial ? How should I attempt to get these replaced/repaired under warranty ? I am based in the UK.

I have this problem too.

Hi Alastair,

Based on the serial numbers you should be able to get the Contract Number.

You can use "Service Contract Center" tool to search through the serial number -

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/front.x/scccibdispatch?AppName=ContractAgent

Please note that the CCO ID to be used should be one to which usually contracts are associated in your organisation.

The same tool will show you is the product is currently covered under warranty.
